"Iaido" is a Japanese martial art aiming at character building through the practice of the sword principle, thus pass on traditional Japanese culture.
Iaido is the technique of using a Japanese sword to practice to attack an imaginary enemy. A critical feature of Iaido is that it allows you to draw the sword from its scabbard really quick in the face of attack.
Iaido techniques are divided into two types, which are the techniques of Iaido schools handed down from ancient Japan (old school) and the basic techniques from major Iaido schools (All Japan Kendo Federation Iai).
In SYUBUKAN, the trainees practice the old school Iaido (Hoki style of iai) and the All Japan Kendo Federation Iai.
